Artworking: Project #2

Here's my "Observation to Abstraction" project for your viewing pleasure--I hope you find it pleasurable, anyway.  The aim here was to observe the abstract qualities of something easily recognizable and use them to create a still life in which the object wasn't so easily recognizable.  I bought a shiny tablecloth at Goodwill, threw it on my desk, shone a light on it, and went to work.

I like how they turned out.  To my surprise and relief, so did my professor.  (That morning, I had very deliberately chosen to wear waterproof mascara instead of regular mascara in preparation for an emotional keelhauling.  It never happened.)
